All coffee served at Yellow Wood is supplied by Easy Jose who roast our coffee locally at their Lenton Roastery in Nottingham. Easy Jose work directly with the MAYNI COMMUNITY who grow their fantastic coffee exclusively for Easy Jose in the rolling foothills of the Amazonian rainforest in Peru.
Easy Jose’s philosophy is to create a sustainable future for indigenous communities, the rainforest and the industry. They work to create long lasting, sustainable, personal relationships with indigenous producers. Each producer must show tangible results of forestry protection whilst upholding organic growing principles. In return, Easy Jose heavily invest in communities, providing the necessary funds to wholly benefit the village infrastructure and protecting their way of life.
The Mayni grow their beautiful coffee, beneath the forest canopy, without the need for slash & burn, clearance or destruction commonly associated with traditional coffee farms. The Mayni harness their natural landscape while protecting the natural eco-system, foliage and wildlife, expertly handpicking their beautiful crop to minimise any damage.
The coffee the Mayni Community harvests is carefully handpicked and subjected to a fully washed process, enhancing the natural flavours while minimising the impact on the environment. This method guarantees a vibrant cup of coffee that reflects the essence of the region, rich with notes of chocolate, honey, almond, and a hint of orange acidity.
